Miguel (Mike) Lopez served four years in the US Coast Guard from March 1911 to March 1995, as a Naval Engineering Officer. During those four years, Mike’s assignments included service abroad the High Endurance Cutter USCGC Gallatin (WHEC-721), USCG Dallas (WHEC-716) ad the Type Desk Manager for Medium Endurance Cutters at the Naval Engineering Vessel Repair Section (VR-1), Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic.

After separating from the US Coast Guard at the Lieutenant Junior Grade in March 1995, Mike joined the US Secret Service as a Special Agent. Mike was first assigned to the New York Field Office where he worked various criminal investigations and protective assignments.

Then in January of 2000, Mike was transferred to Washington DC, where he served in a number of assignments in various offices and directorates. These assignments included the Protective Intelligence Division, Vice Presidential Protective Division, James J. Rowley Training Center, Washington Field Office and Special Operations Division.

Mike retired at the end of December 2021 with the title of Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Airspace Security Branch, Special Operations Division. In total, Mike fulfilled 30 years of service to our nation.

Mike now lives in Oxford, Pennsylvania where he enjoying the benefits of retirement and lending his time and support to charitable causes.
